Antique Zeh Scherzer & Co Golden Pheasant Trump Bird Porcelain Statue Figurine

SEE ADDITIONAL 16 PICTURES BELOW DESCRIPTION, Very Rare & Absolutely Beautiful Original Antique Circa 1920 Hand-Painted Polychrome Art Deco Zeh, Scherzer & Co. See the additional 16 pictures we embedded below the description. We have seen only a handful of examples of this rare statue in any form but we know of three variations: a white porcelain version with gold highlights; a polychrome version with solid colors outlined with solid black lines; and our polychrome version with the naturalistic painting. We could not find another example of our variation online and believe it to be extremely rare. Our research indicates that Zeh, Scherzer & Co. Statues are fairly scarce to begin with in comparison to their more commonly found housewares, but in our opinions ours is the most beautifully painted and finely executed statue by the company that we found during our research. It is an absolutely beautiful piece worthy of any antique porcelain collection. The wording under the green mark reads ZEHSCHERZER. BAVARIA with Zeh Scherzer written as a single word. Above the stamp in raised lettering is a mark that reads KUNSTSCH. We believe that C. Stands for Kunstfachschule or Kunstgewerbeschule München that we believe roughly translates to Arts and Crafts School Munich. Below this mark is the raised number 91 that indicates the designs model number. Our research indicates that Richter designed the statue around 1920 and we thus date the piece to around that time. The statue appears to be free of any breaks, cracks, or repairs, though it does have what appear to be many small white nick-type marks throughout (see additional pictures below). We do not know if these blemishes were manufacturing imperfections or light wear over the last century (most likely the latter), but either way they do not take away from the magnificence of the piece and in our opinions would be relatively simple to restore. The statue also has scratches, dirty/dusty and/or stained areas, and other general light wear. The statue measures roughly 13 5/8″ in length by 8 1/2″ in height by 3 1/8″ wide at its furthest points and the outer edge of the base measures roughly 12 3/4″ x 3. The statue weighs roughly 2 lbs 7.2 oz (1,1 kg). This beautiful antique circa 1920 hand-painted Zeh, Scherzer & Company fine porcelain statue figure of a Chinese golden pheasant designed by Carl Richter is sure to be a nice addition to your collection.
