VINTAGE CHINESE DAYAZHAI STYLE TURQUOISE PORCELAIN BIRDCAGE LANTERN Featuring Applied 3D Birds, Wisteria, Peonies, and Traditional Studio Seals This Chinese ceramic birdcage lantern/decorative piece crafted in the iconic “Dayazhai” style made famous by Empress Dowager Cixi’s imperial court wares, this piece features a vibrant turquoise ground with a subtle famille rose style and elaborate relief decoration. KEY FEATURES: – Hand-detailed raised/embossed wisteria clusters, lush peony blossoms, and curling vine scrollwork. Two dimensional 3D ceramic birds perched gracefully on the outer reticulated bars. Pierced vertical cut-out bars forming the classic birdcage/lantern enclosure. Topped with a brass/cast metal hanging loop and ornate metal collar. Stamped with red underglaze/overglaze seal marks. “Da Ya Zhai” (- Studio of Great Elegance) rectangular seal. “Tian Di Yi Jia Chun” oval seal. Red stamp on the unglazed base ” ” CONDITION REPORT: – Overall excellent vintage condition with no major cracks or structural damage noted.
