Beautiful vintage glazed porcelain bird figurine by Lorenz Hutschenreuther, Germany, from the Kunstabteilung (Art Department) line. The realistically modeled bird has an open beak and dramatically raised tail and is perched on a naturalistic branch with foliage. The original paper label was photographed before the figurine was mounted and reads. Lorenz Hutschenreuther Kunstabteilung 0248006 / 8270. Measurements: Porcelain bird measures approximately 7″ high × 6″ long × 3.5 wide. Wooden display base measures approximately 4″ × 4″. IMPORTANT CONDITION INFORMATION: A portion of the original porcelain leaf/support at the bottom of the figurine was broken. Because the loss left the bird unable to stand securely on its own, it was permanently epoxied to the non-original wooden display base shown in the photographs. The original Hutschenreuther paper identification label is now concealed between the porcelain and wooden base. A photograph taken before the bird was mounted showing the original 0248006 / 8270 label is included in the listing. Despite the damage, the bird itself displays beautifully, and the wooden base provides a stable and attractive presentation. Please examine all photographs carefully, particularly the close-up photographs of the damaged/support area, before purchasing.
