Vintage Augarten Wien Porcelain Parakeet Figure Figurine Porzellan Figur Vienna

A very hard to find figurine of a parakeet bird first designed by Robert Ullmann in 1934. This is the green version which is rarer than the blue one – I have seen the blue one a few times but never the green one so I was excited to add him to my collection. We had three of these little birds when I was a kid and they were a lot of fun! The green one used to play Yahtzee with us which was the funniest thing. The figure is superbly modeled grooming itself while sitting on some cubes – not sure what they are meant to be but they look rather Art Deco. A very realistic piece and quite a typical pose for these birds if you are familiar with them. The figurine is in perfect condition which is amazing given all the fragile parts to this figure, especially the tail. The piece is 5 inches tall, 5.25 inches from head to tail and 2.5 inches deep. The figure is marked underneath with the blue shield with the crown on top as well as the word Wien underneath, a black 77 or LL as well as a 234 as the painter’s mark, impressed letter J and number 1724 and on the side of the base it has Robert Ullmann 1934 impressed. UNIQUE RARE VINTAGE PORCELAIN BIRD FIGURES FIGURINES UNSIGNED lot of 7. BEAUTIFUL COLLECTION OF VINTAGE BIRDS. All show some CRAZING from age. The ones that have damage are shown in close ups. One has what appears to be a light splatter from black spray paint – no other damage to that one. The tiny one has some paint wear as shown. The open back planter one has several small chips on the bottom and one on the beak and a hairline crack as shown. The others seem to be in great condition. Please see pictures for actual condition. Vintage/Antique items are not in new or new-like condition – they are old and used! If you are looking for new, functional, shiny items please look close because I love old stuff that does not fit those categories very often! Please look closely at the pictures they are a large and important part of the description and show the ACTUAL CONDITION if you can’t tell from the. This looks like a Chinese Export Famille Verte Pottery Parrot c1910. It has no markings on it that say so, but it looks just like one described as the Chinese Export Famille Verte Pottery Parrot. The bird is perched on a scrolling rockwork base. The bird is colored in a deep green and turquoise, and it has deep orange/brown legs/feet. It measures approximately 9.5 in height, and 3 3/4 at the widest point. It is in great condition yet it has some staining and some scratches on the bottom. You will be able to see that in the photos.
