This lot contains a perfect pair of Chinese Famille Rose porcelain crane figures with impressed seals on the base of each one. My best estimate of age based on styles of the periods, materials, style and scale, is that these were likely made in the late part of the 19th or early part of the 20th century. They don’t often come up in pairs and almost never do you find them without some sort of damage or repair. These are exceptional in every way. These were made in a variety of styles, scales and color motifs. I quite prefer the more muted soft tones of these, reminiscent of Chinese “blanc de chine” pure white wears. The maker made no mistakes on this pair. Each measures 17 tall. Both are in pristine condition with no damages, no repairs and no alterations of any kind. I live in Montana where, often, in the early spring, if you find yourself in the countryside, you might catch a rare sighting of these beautiful cranes in muted tones sillouetted against the skyline at sunrise or sunset.
