This huge, made in the mid 1900-s, absolutely stunning pair of Pelicans is a rare find. The Pelicans, a male and a female, are featured hunting for fish. The male Pelican has his mouth wide open, about to swallow a freshly caught fish. The female Pelican looks attentively in the waters in front in search for fish. This awesome figurine is made with great realism and stunning attention to the details and hand painted in vivid realistic colours at the famous Karl Ens factory in Rudolstadt, Thuringia, Germany. Marked to the bottom with blue Ens windmill mark that was used after 1945 (this specific pale blue suggests late 1940-s early 1950s production) and embossed with four illegible numbers (usually this figurine bears 7359 serial number).
