Two circa 1950 flamingo statues, figures, 1- Leftons Occupied Japan and 2- TM Occupied Japan, earthenware / soft porcelain, brilliant color fluttering flamingos with green foliage, sitting juvenile flamingo sitting on base. 1- 8.5, 4.75 deep, 2.75 oval shaped base. 2- 8 tall, 3.75 deep, 2.75 oval shaped base. Condition excellent, no chips, cracks or repairs. 1799 – Lefton China (1940-current), founded by George Zoltan Lefton, Chicago, IL. The beginning Japan productions reached USA after WWII rebuilding efforts and often marked Made in Occupied Japan (1946-52). Many of the early pieces were made by the Miyawo Company in Japan. The companys primary source of production was from Japan until the mid 1970s. TM Occupied Japan.
