BEAUTIFUL STAFFORDSHIRE COVERED DISH. NESTING HEN AND CHICKS. About 7″ x 6 1/2″ x 5 1/2. Wonderful Staffordshire covered dish / small tureen. Nesting hen with seven full dimensional chicks. Hand painted in reddish brown to white shades. Some scattered glaze flakes and chips. Old repairs to beak, tail and wing feathers. All very tight and nearly invisible, but they’re there (all visible in the images). A BEAUTIFUL MID 19TH CENTURY STAFFORDSHIRE CHICKEN DISH.

Hand-painted in Japonisme style with a striking black crow cawing at a full moon amid tall reeds, on a gradient beige-to-brown glaze. 11″ tall x 4″ diameter. It has beautiful colors and in a high gloss finish, this is an exquisitely detailed piece that would be a welcome addition to any collection or bird lover. EXCELLENT CONDITION, WITHOUT ISSUES WHATSOEVER!!! 3 1/4″ Tall (at tallest point) x 3 1/2″ long from the beak to end of tail x 1 1/2 Wide and weighs 51 grams / 1.8 oz. HAND PAINTED WHITETHROAT BIRD # 2106. The wonderful piece is of a’WHITETHROAT’ and has high gloss with a model number 2106. It also has painted initials under the glaze.
