Limoges 10 game-bird plates artist signed hand painted Antique. Each plate is executed in a pistachio green and a darker emerald color and has a different pair (male & female) of woodland game birds in their habitat surrounded by a impressive 2 border that is heavily decorated consisting of roses with a gold bough & crown alternating with a gold fan French design. The white porcelain is peaking through highlighting all the colors. Notice the 3 gold shields displaying delicate blue flowers which point to the center scene. The plates are 9 1/4 diameter and are signed by Muville. I have been told the artist is featured in Gaston’s Collector’s Encyclopedia of Limoges (3rd ed). (Please confirm for yourself). Backstamp: 6 plates have all 4 below marks. 4 plates have 3 of the below marks. 3-Intertwining L’s with an “A” in the center. 4-Gold star (on some). They were displayed in my mothers curio for years and I inherited them and have owned them for 40 years. We are downsizing so I need to rehome them.
