IMPRESSIVE LARGE PAIR ANTIQUE JAPANESE KUTANI PORCELAIN STATUES OKIMONOS BIRDS. This listing is for a large and impressive pair of Japanese porcelain okimonos dating to the Meiji period. Each is made in the form of birds with long tails perched upon the base of tree. They are finished in beautiful enamel work throughout the feathers and highlighted with gilt. Detail on this pair is better than most you will find. They stand about 12 inches tall and are in very good condition with no damage. Please see our other listings for more rare Japanese okimonos in the form of various animals. Many of the items we sell are well over 100 years old. Antique Pair Chinese Porcelain Phoenix Bird Statues

Antique Pair Chinese Porcelain. Up for sale is the pair of Chinese porcelain fenghuang. Or phoenix bird statues with an auspicious connotation, dated early 20. Bird that reigns over all other birds. Is a symbol of high virtue and grace. An old Chinese book. Records that each part of fenghuangs body symbolizes a Chinese character, respectively. With slight wings spread, the two fenghuang birds are delicately hand painted in rich colors. The bottoms are stamped, as one shows China, the rest are unrecognizable. 6 high x 2 ¼ wide (across widest parts) x 1 ¾ base diameter. Condition: Very good, with no chips, cracks or any repairs. This beautiful matching pair of antique Chinese porcelain Famille Rose Birds of Paradise statues are in excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks or crazing. The dynasty mark is on the underside of both statues. They are 16 high. I bought them from a personal source in China. They are from my own personal collection.
