Rare Zeh Scherzer Bird Figurine. The firm was founded in Bavaria, Germany in 1880 and was renowned for its artistic porcelain figurines. (The company’s name has oftentimes erroneously been referred to as “Behscherzer”). This rare figurine features a colorful naturalistic bird perched on a spherical ball that is mounted on a gold decorated white base. From a private estate collection, Boca Raton, Florida. In amazingly excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. Only a tiny pinole inherent to its making. The gold work is also in excellent condition. Marked to the base in gold with the Zeh Scherzer shield with a deer run between two trees and “Anno 1919″. It also has the designer’s name impressed on the ball just above the base.
