
Norman Rockwell’s THE TOY MAKER. Konigliche Porzellan Manufaktur (KPM), Berlin, Germany. Scharfe Spatzen – Scolding Sparrow. It is called’Scharfe Spatzen’ -‘Scolding Sparrow’. This is Blanc de Chine (all-white) figure. Gentle texture of porcelain beautifully represents bird’s feathers. It is fully glazed. Very famous sculptor and artist Wilhelm Carl Robra (1876 – 1945) designed this figurine in 1910s. His name is incised in front, just above the base from left side of this bird. The backside is marked with scepter mark in blue under glaze. The scepter mark was introduced when Frederick The Great bought the factory. This mark was used on production of during 1870 – 1945. This figurine is production of 1930s. Figurine measures about 5″ x 2 ¼” and stands 2 ¾ tall. Condition is immaculate with no cracks or chips found.
