Beautiful opposing, matching, pair of antique, Chinese made for export, hand enameled porcelain parrots or birds. Circa late 19th century or late Qing Dynasty to early 20th century or early Republic Period perhaps 1890 – 1920. Impressed CHINA mark on the bottom of each parrot. Measures approximately 9.5 inches tall x 5.5 inches wide x 3.5 inches deep. Very good overall condition with respect to age – no major chips, cracks or repairs to be seen; there are a few small areas that I noticed that have missing enamel – two where it appears the artist missed the area, and one that I noticed on one wing where there is a small flake of the enamel only; I also noticed a place on near the bottom of the base of one bird where there are some of the artist’s fingerprints in the surface of the piece.
