An outstanding porcelain figurine of a parrot by a little known company, Behscherzer, from Bavaria, founded in 1880. The company has a confusing history, undergoing name changes that convolute its history, yet the quality of the work is undeniable. This porcelain parrot measures an impressive 12 1/4″ tall by 8 1/2″ wide. Its feathers are formed in relief, decorated in several jewel-like colors, with each feather outlined in gold, as are the eyes, beak and base. This piece is truly a work of art. Hallmarked under the base, with impressed model number 48. No chips, cracks, repairs or restorations. Please enlarge and examine all photos carefully as they are considered part of the description. Experienced shipper of fragile items.
