KPM Berlin – Late 18th / Early 19th Century c. Hand-painted porcelain plate with exotic bird & insects. Diameter: 24.5 cm. A fine and early KPM Berlin porcelain plate, dating to the transitional late 18th / early 19th century period. Beautifully hand-painted with a vibrant exotic bird perched on a flowering branch, surrounded by delicately rendered insects in the naturalistic style favored by KPM artists of the era. The plate features a molded rococo-influenced border with floral reliefs and gilt highlights, showcasing the exceptional craftsmanship of KPM during the early Prussian royal period. The brushwork is crisp and detailed, with rich colors and excellent depth. Marked on the reverse with the underglaze blue sceptre mark, confirming early KPM manufacture. Technique: Hand-painted porcelain, gilt accents. Condition: Excellent – no chips, cracks, restoration or hairlines. Provenance: Private European collection. A highly desirable early KPM example, ideal for collectors of German royal porcelain, 18th-early 19th century tableware, or fine ornithological painting.

Norman Rockwell’s THE TOY MAKER. Konigliche Porzellan Manufaktur (KPM), Berlin, Germany. Scharfe Spatzen – Scolding Sparrow. It is called’Scharfe Spatzen’ -‘Scolding Sparrow’. This is Blanc de Chine (all-white) figure. Gentle texture of porcelain beautifully represents bird’s feathers. It is fully glazed. Very famous sculptor and artist Wilhelm Carl Robra (1876 – 1945) designed this figurine in 1910s. His name is incised in front, just above the base from left side of this bird. The backside is marked with scepter mark in blue under glaze. The scepter mark was introduced when Frederick The Great bought the factory. This mark was used on production of during 1870 – 1945. This figurine is production of 1930s. Figurine measures about 5″ x 2 ¼” and stands 2 ¾ tall. Condition is immaculate with no cracks or chips found.
