A striking, large-scale hand-painted Italian porcelain Scarlet Macaw – a genuine G. Armani Capodimonte piece in the sought-after early configuration. This exquisite bisque porcelain macaw stands approximately 17″ tall on its original square walnut wood base (7″ x 7″), which carries the engraved brass “G. Armani nameplate on the front edge. The tree-trunk perch bears the embossed G. Armani” signature inside its hollow, along with the hand-painted underglaze crowned-“N Capodimonte mark on the reverse – a mark and base combination that collectors of these pieces recognize as the rarer, earlier-issue variant. The hand-painting is rich and richly graduated – scarlet reds fading to gold and deep teal-green across the wing and tail feathers, with fine individual feather texturing throughout. The bird perches on a naturalistic driftwood-style branch with hand-applied leaves and berry clusters. 15″H x 7″W x 7D (base). A wonderful statement piece for a collector of Capodimonte/Armani figurines or as a striking decorative accent. All proceeds go to benefit the Market Street Mission in Morristown, NJ to provide Meals, Shelter and our Addiction Recovery Program.
