Their plumage is well detailed and glazed in brilliant, jewel-toned famille rose enamels of bright greens, pinks, yellows, blues. This is older and most likely at the time the original owner had plaster placed in them. The plaster acts as a weight so they remain sturdy and you can also see that the plaster has aged over time.
